Langley House
Overview
A raised house, drawn from structure outward.
Langley House is a two-storey single family residence raised on masonry columns and helical piers, with a metal roof, metal shingle walls and a deep wrap-around deck carried on exposed pressure-treated rafters.
The set works from the structure outward. Axonometric views establish the truss layout, girder trusses, post structure and column pairs before the drawings move to four fully annotated elevations, each keyed to a material legend covering the roof, trim bands, veneer stone, relief stone and window types.
Sections through the house and the deck resolve floor levels, the porch roof and the relationship between the raised living floor and the ground beneath, giving the builder a coordinated read of both the finish and the frame.
